"We are the music-makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams. Wandering by lone sea-breakers and sitting by desolate streams. World-losers and world-forsakers, upon whom the pale moon gleams: but we are the movers and shakers of the world forever, it seems."

Had a fun night at Vibe Lounge with Chris/Benny/Chark/Joe/Sam. Chris told me doors were at 4:30 so I got there at 5 but turns out they weren’t until 6 so we went to starbucks and just hung out for an hour or so after they were loaded in. He’s a really cool guy; I enjoy hanging out with him.
Some kid opened with an acoustic set, and he was quite good. He had a great voice. Didn’t catch his name, unfortunately. Another local played second, and it was pretty hilarious…you should’ve seen the singer’s outfit. Straight out of myspace circa 2004 or so. Skin-tight black jeans, white studded belt, unlaced dunks, MIDRIFF-BARING TANK TOP, leather cropped jacket, gauges, and septum piercing. And he performed with a limp wrist a la Dan Young. I had to stifle laughter the entire time. The guys were all nice, though. The bassist of this opening band came up to me right before their set and introduced himself and said “Have we met? I know I’ve seen you quite a few times” and I was like lol no I have never seen you before in my life and it was awk but kind of funny and he was like “uhh our set is starting, I should probably get onstage”.
ANYWAY
Kiss Kiss played next, and they are un-fucking-believable. SO COOL. Rebecca kills it on violin, and it adds such an awesome sound to their breakdowns. If you have the chance to see them please do. Really amazing music.
The Venetia Fair headlined and while there weren’t many people up through like the beginning of Kiss Kiss’s set, there ended up being a really big crowd for TVF. They were insane as usual; I wish they had had a bigger stage. It was obviously a little cramped for their antics. Chark sliced his finger open on a guitar string during the first song and blood spurted all over his shirt and like…on the drums and it was just ridiculous, like something out of a movie. And so fitting for their set. I’m honestly surprised those boys don’t sustain serious injuries every night of tour the way they perform, haha.
Oh, also, crazy story of the night: there was some drama going on because the guys stayed at Joe’s girlfriend’s house last night and Sam dared Chark to eat her pet beta fish, which he did; swallowed it whole. Yeah, you read that right. So she found out today and drama followed and now they have to buy her a new fish and drive back to her house to deliver it.
Like…really. Who has stories like that.

tbh I'm kind of interested to see how Chiodos does with the new frontman

I kinda just went to their shows to watch Craig perform. But the new guy has a good voice. I’m interested to see where it goes musically.
